Implementing the cooperation program with the People’s Committee of Tran De district, Techpal Soc Trang Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as “TSC”, a member unit of TECHPAL GROUP) has conducted survey, research and evaluation activities for the production area of specialty rice. TSC has signed a cooperation contract with the 1/5 Agricultural Cooperative and Dong Day Cooperative Group to support, advise on production and cultivation according to Global Gap standards and purchase specialty rice in an area of 40 hectares participating in the cooperation project with the Company.

On September 13-14, 2024, farmers at the 1/5 Agricultural Cooperative and Dong Day Cooperative Group, together with representatives of TSC Company, focused on harvesting 40 hectares of rice grown with purebred ST25 rice variety, according to Global Gap standards.
ST25 rice was bred and developed by engineer Ho Quang Cua and his research team. With its delicious flavor and outstanding quality, ST25 rice won first prize in the World’s Best Rice contest in 2019 and 2023 and continues to be on the list of the world’s top rice varieties.
According to farmers at the 1/5 Agricultural Cooperative and the Dong Day Cooperative, the characteristics of ST25 rice are its long, white, and clear grains. When cooked, the rice is soft, sticky, fragrant, and rich in flavor. Notably, the current price of ST25 rice is also higher than that of traditional rice varieties, especially ST25 rice produced and cultivated according to agricultural standards and has been positively received by the market.
TSC Company’s ST25-VIP Rice product uses purebred ST25 rice variety, produced and cultivated according to Global Gap standards. Accordingly, the production and cultivation of ST25 rice according to Global GAP standards is to minimize the use of pesticides and fertilizers during cultivation, minimize the negative impact of agriculture on the surrounding environment and maintain the longevity of agricultural land. During the production and cultivation process, only fertilizers and pesticides in the permitted list are allowed to be used. Therefore, Global GAP experts have tested rice samples in the fields of the 1/5 Agricultural Cooperative and Dong Day Cooperative Group for testing 10 days before harvest to ensure that the rice meets Global GAP standards and organize training for farmers on harvesting techniques.

In addition, the project “Building a model for planting, processing and developing the value chain of ST25 Tran De Rice in Soc Trang province” of TSC Company in cooperation with the People’s Committee of Tran De district, linking production, cultivation and consumption with the 1/5 Agricultural Cooperative and Dong Day Cooperative Group was highly appreciated by the Departments, Boards and Branches of Soc Trang province. Typically, on the day of implementing the ST25 rice harvest, Soc Trang Provincial Television Station went directly to the locality to report on the harvest of ST25 rice produced and cultivated according to the Company’s Global GAP standards.

Up to now, the 1/5 Agricultural Cooperative and the Dong Day Cooperative have completed the harvest of ST25 rice. Techpal Soc Trang Co., Ltd. has also completed the procedures related to the ST25-VIP rice product, ready to bring it to the market to serve customers.
